About The Event

Degrees & Desires: Life, Love, & Identity for a Canadian Immigrant

Irritability, emotional distancing, and being pensive. These are common in immigrants who have left their family, friends and culture behind to begin a new life in a different society. Its not easy to integrate into Western culture, upgrading our education and trying surrender our familiar lifestyle. But we do it to reach long-term goals or offer more opportunities to our children. Often, we can become resentful, feeling that we are being stripped away of our relationships, values and sense of being. Those that do reach inner peace usually have a new blended sense of love and identity.

From his 25 years of career counselling, Peter will share anecdotes and principles for achieving a healthy balance. The talk will be conducted in English.
