In this presentation, Dr. Faranak Shojaee will describe "3D Printing / Additive Manufacturing, The Next Industrial Revolution?". This technology is considered a disruptive technology which introduces significant changes in many aspects of our lives in the coming decades.

About The Event
In this talk, different technologies and applications of 3D printing are presented on modeling and prototyping, architecture and engineering, dentistry, medical fields, bioprinting, food, and artworks. A brief overview of the 3D printing industry, current challenges, as well as research and development activities will be discussed. Hopefully, with active contribution of attendees, we can explore other potential applications of 3D printing technology.
Samples of printed objects and materials for 3D printing will be displayed.
Dr, Faranak Shojai graduated in Metallurgy from the University of Tehran, Faculty of Engineering, continued her education in Materials Technology in Finland. Immigrated to Canada and worked in mining and metal industry in special product development at Inco/Vale and continued in recent years in material and technology development in 3D Printing and additive manufacturing.
She has worked with the academy and private companies in research and product development projects and in recent years with innovative Startup small business in the 3D printing market.
